Here is Louis Perkins standing outside his office in Cove, Oregon. You can see the cross on top of the Cove Chapel in the background. Anyone care to guess a date?

I think this was the winter of 1984-85. My wife, Anne was DRE for the Diocese as well as for Redeemer. We moved Hazel's office contents to the office at Redeemer in Pendleton, and assisted Louis in expanding his office space in this small building.

Thank you so much for your comment Sheldon. I am working on the Perkins/Morrison collection now. What was it like to work with Louis on this project? Could you tell us a little more about how Louis? For instance, how did he want his office organized? How did he feel about preserving his records? Any information will certainly help me in my work to preserve his legacy.Thank you.

Louis was fairly well organized in his office, and his mind was really in the Concrete-sequential model. His manual typewriter and its desk are what I remember best, along with the file cabinets and books. Most of his books were in the house, but the office had many, as well. Hazel's office was more random, and she was more of an artistic personality. Her office was very random, as well. Hazel was in a nursing home in LA Grande by this time, and Louis wanted to make sure that her decades long ministry was remembered and preserved.

I am Rev. Perkins granddaughter. His daughter, Dorothy Perkins Wysham is my mother and lives in Portland. We have many fond memories of time in Cove with Hazel and Grandpa Louis growing up. Hazel taught arts and crafts at the summer camp in Cove.
