The Rev. Dcn. Robert Carsner passed away 6 January 2014, surrounded by loved ones in The Dalles, Oregon. I regret that I only knew Bob for the final months of his life. The Bob that I knew was a kind, gentle soul who loved his family and friends. He had a great passion for iconography, opera and organ music. In fact, while in college at UO in the early sixties, Bob hosted his own opera radio show. Bob was a life-long member of both old and new St. Paul's Church and spoke fondly of his childhood in The Dalles. Bob will be remembered for his appreciation of high-church liturgy, as well as his service to the diocese and community that he loved so much. Rest in peace Bob, you will be greatly missed.
