What happens when you combine a wet Oregon February with a clogged drain above a poorly ventilated basement? You guessed it, a terrible leak and mold. This basement was the diocese's primary storage before I moved the archives into the basement of old St. Paul's and Remington Hall. Thankfully, none of EDEO's irreplaceable primary sources were damaged. Unfortunately, some of Louis Perkins' books were damaged by the leak. Diocesan representatives and the property managers are currently in the process of consulting with specialists who have put together a quote to repair the damage. I will keep you updated on their progress.
I want to thank Mark Roth for his help in moving the archives out of the basement, you are truly wonderful. Also, thanks to Bishop Nedi, Lisa, Laurance, Jerry, Diane, Diocesan Standing Committee and everyone else who has stepped up in helping with this problem.
